Dan Woods is a seasoned CTO and writer, with degrees and significant experience in both computer science and journalism.
As a CTO, Dan has built technology for Time Inc.'s Pathfinder web site, TheStreet.com, a financial news site, and CapitalThinking, a software
firm focused on the commercial mortgage industry. He has managed the product development and supported the sales cycle for software products
and services. As an author, Dan has worked as business reporter in newspapers and also written several books for developers and IT
managers, including Enterprise Services Architecture, Packaged Composite Applications, and SAP NetWeaver for Dummies. Dan's latest book, which
will be published by O'Reilly Media in 2005, is called Open Source for the Enterprise (http://OSE.EvolvedMediaNetwork.com). Dan currently is
CTO and Editor of the Evolved Media Network (http://www.EvolvedMediaNetwork.com), a firm specializing in technology
communications. Dan and his team write books, white papers, technical documentation, as well as training and marketing materials for clients
that range from the largest software makers to early stage startups. Dan is a frequent contributor to InfoWorld and other publications.

Byron founded SourceLabs after speaking with over 50 large enterprises, ISVs, open source companies, and open source developers who told him about the need for dependable open source systems. Previously Byron served as Vice President and General Manager of the WebLogic Portal and Workshop Divisions at BEA Systems. Byron's career includes various product development and marketing roles at Crossgain and Amazon.com and consulting for numerous large enterprises.

Kevin Foreman,
General Manager, Helix, RealNetworks, Inc.
As General Manager, Helix of RealNetworks, Inc., Mr. Foreman is responsible for the management of the industry's leading digital media creation, delivery and consumption platform -- Helix DNA as well as the industry ecosystem that builds on this platform -- Helix Community. He has been at RealNetworks for five years, in a number of managerial roles including leading the Tools & Authoring Products Group and the Developer & Partners Relations Group. Prior to RealNetworks, Mr. Foreman worked for five years in various product and program management roles at Avid Technology, the world's leading non-linear video-editing company. Prior to this, he held several sales and sales management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary and a MBA from Harvard Business School.

 

Jacob Taylor, Co-Founder and VP of Engineering, SugarCRM
Previous to co-founding SugarCRM, Jacob Taylor was the Sr. Development Manager at E.piphany in charge of platform infrastructure and services. Previous to E.piphany, Jacob worked at Symantec Corp and Enterprise Engines. Jacob attained an MS in Computer Science. Jacob has poineered the SugarCRM architecture plus the design strategy for the solution.

 

Tom Brubaker, VP, Prepared Response (founder of the folded Open Source company)
Tom Brubaker has over 16 years experience in sales, business development, marketing and product management. Prior to Prepared Response, Tom founded and directed two start-up companies. In addition to running start-ups, Tom held a variety of positions at Microsoft Corporation, Hewlett Packard, and Visio Corporation in product management, program management and sales. While at Microsoft, Tom created and drove the strategic Partnership program in Microsoft's Messaging Business Unit. Tom's sales and business development success includes significant licensing agreements that expedited the emergence of portable computing, the personal computer, and email. Deals include the 1st OEMs to license WindowsTM, the 1st integrated TrackBall for laptops and the 1st graphical PC email client for Hewlett Packard. Mr. Brubaker earned his MBA at the University of Washington.
