Speakers Dan Rosen of Frazier Technology Ventures and the Seattle Alliance of Angels and Russ Stockdale of Clearsight Systems will share their knowledge, and experience regarding how to Plan and Build a Valuable business. 
For the entrepreneur, creating and building a valuable and sustainable business is what it is all about.  A great product idea or technology is a great start, but not enough.  You also have to plan and then build a great business.  Effective business planning and execution will increase your options at each step along the way.

Dan Rosen
Mr. Rosen is the co-founder and general partner of Frazier Technology Ventures. Prior to joining the company, Dan was the general manager of new technology at Microsoft Research, where he was responsible for assessing Microsoft's overall new technology portfolio, acquiring new technologies and ensuring that they were integrated into Microsoft products. During his six years at Microsoft, Mr. Rosen also developed and managed a portfolio of investments, including the highly successful investment in UUNET.  Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Rosen was the VP and general manager of AT&T's first consumer Internet offering, AT&T PersonaLink Services, and a pioneer in AT&T's wireless data offerings. He holds several patents in communication and Internet technologies. In addition to his work with AT&T and Microsoft's corporate investments, Mr. Rosen has been an active private investor and is chairman of the Seattle Alliance of Angels, one of the nation's largest angel organizations.  He currently sits on the boards of Neah Power Systems (as chairman), eCommerce Industries, Clearsight Systems (as chairman), SNAPin, The Technology Alliance (as vice chair), and he previously served on the boards of UUNET, General Magic, Individual, Open Port Technologies, Web 3000 and the Washington Software Alliance. Mr. Rosen has B.A. in biology from

Russ Stockdale
Mr. Stockdale is the Vice President of Marketing and Strategy at Clearsight Systems, Inc.  Prior to joining the company, Russ was Vice President of Business Solutions at Microsoft, where he was responsible for the successful merger of Great Plains Software Inc with Microsoft and instrumental in the creation of the Microsoft Business Solutions Division.  Formerly he served as Vice President of Microsoft's Knowledge Worker Solutions, responsible for marketing and strategic planning for Microsoft Exchange Server, SharePoint Portal Server and other collaboration-focused products. Mr. Stockdale also led business development and marketing for Microsoft Internet Explorer targeting Internet Service Providers and Internet Content Providers. He began his Microsoft career on desktop operating systems where he managed end-user marketing for Windows 95, Windows 3.1 and MS-DOS. Before joining Microsoft, Mr. Stockdale was a manager with Accenture, specializing in the design and development of enterprise software for manufacturing and distribution clients. He holds an M.B.A. in marketing and finance from Wharton and a B.S. in Industrial Engineering from <?xml:namespace prefix = u1 /?>
