Biographies
Jeff Schrock, Investor, Intel Capital
Jeff Schrock has a broad set of technology deal-making experiences, and has been an entrepreneur, angel investor, corporate director, and a mergers and acquisitions executive. He joined Intel Capital, one of the largest venture capital organizations in the industry, from Monster Venture Partners, an early-stage venture firm based in Seattle.
Prior to focusing his career on investing, Jeff served as Vice President of Corporate Development at RealNetworks where his team executed multiple M&A transactions. He also worked in corporate development at Yahoo! where he focused on digital home initiatives. While at Yahoo!, he also served as Vice President and General Manager of Yahoo! Broadcast following its acquisition of Broadcast.com.
Earlier in his career, Jeff was an entrepreneur who co-founded and served as CEO of Activate from 1996 to 2001. Under his leadership, Activate was the second fastest-growing private company in Washington State from 1998 to 2000. The company was financed by leading venture capitalists, including Madrona Venture Group, until it was sold to CMGI in 1999 for $100 million.
Andy Dale, Managing General Partner, Buerk Dale Victor (BDV)
Andy joined Buerk Dale Victor (BDV) as Managing General Partner in 2000, and shortly thereafter co-founded the firm's fund management business. For more than 15 years, he has been involved in building and growing companies as an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and investment banker. Andy currently serves as a board member for BDV portfolio companies, including Door-to-Door Storage, ClearMedical, ReliOn, Intrepid, PayScale, ClearAccess, Veriwave, Passage Events and HaloSource. Andy was formerly a board observer for Performant, Inc., successfully exited through sale to Mercury Interactive in 2003. He was also a successful investor in Priority Call (sold to LHS Group), Linktone (LTON) and Acme Packet (APKT). He is former Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees for the Gates / NIH-funded Seattle Biomedical Research Institute, and a current President of the Evergreen Venture Capital Association.
Early in his career, Andy served in the mergers and acquisitions group of Smith Barney in New York, where he worked on reorganizations for Revco Drugstores, Sunbeam and Eastern Airlines. He also worked with First Century Partners, Smith Barney's venture capital group.
As an Executive Manager, he helped build Priority Call Management in Boston, prior to its acquisition for approximately $200 million through a sale to LHS Group in 1999. At Priority Call, Andy assisted in raising $15 million of angel and venture capital, and grew the company from $0 to $60 million in annualized revenues within six years. Andy served as Vice President of Corporate Development at LHS Group, a telecommunications billing company, prior to its $4.7 billion merger with Sema Group.
Andy holds an A.B. from Harvard College, where he was a member of the 1987 Ivy League champion soccer team, and received his MBA from Harvard Business School. He and his wife are Seattle natives, both graduates of Roosevelt High School in Seattle, and have three young children.
Geoffrey Nuval, CEO / Co-founder, EVO Landing
Geoff helped conceptualize EVO Landing in the summer of 2007, and now steers the company's strategy and direction. On a day-to-day basis, Geoff covers business development, partner relations and company operations. Prior to EVO, Geoff was CEO of down2night, inc., a nightlife social networking and event notification platform spanning over 20 cities in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to d2n, Geoff was with Lehman Brothers Venture Partners, working on over 14 investments with a focus on the mobile and Internet spaces. Geoff holds a Bachelor of Science in Management Science & Engineering with Honors from Stanford University.
