BUILDING VALUE THROUGH ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The MIT Club of Puget Sound and the MIT Enterprise Forum of the Northwest are jointly sponsoring the MIT Enterprise Forum Satellite Broadcast "Building Value Through Entrepreneurship" on Wednesday, May 31, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. The broadcast is being hosted by Safeco at the Safeco Plaza Building at the corner of NE 45th Street and Brooklyn Avenue in the University District. This broadcast will provide an opportunity to hear from four successful entrepreneurs. The moderator will be Howard Anderson, founder and president of The Yankee Group and co-founder of Battery Ventures and YankeeTek. He is also the William Porter Distinguished Lecturer at MIT's Sloan School of Management. Panelists will include Alain Hanover, President and CEO of InCert Software Corporation; Jonathan Seelig, founder and Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development, Akamai Technologies, Inc.; Laura Beth Trust, Owner, with her husband, of a chain of Finagle a Bagel restaurants and Finagle Land; and Frank Zenie, Chairman, Velquest Corporation. To broadcast from MIT's Kresge Auditorium beginning at 7:00 p.m. Eastern Time, the program will include an introduction by the moderator, brief overview comments by the panelists, and interactive discussion with attendees and satellite-downlinked participants. The program will reach technology entrepreneurs in the live on-campus audience as well as in groups gathered to receive the broadcast throughout the U.S. and in Canada. According to the MIT Enterprise Forum Executive Director Edmund M. Dunn, "at the Enterprise Forum we live by the concept, 'we help entrepreneurs build companies.' This program is an opportunity to hear how these successful entrepreneurs have built lasting value."
